How Have They Survived? The Future? Case Studies

Business Link identifies approximately 2,074 businesses in Stroud today (2003).

Although 50% of these have grown up in the last 50 years, it is interesting to note that 12 businesses were established in the 1800s and have managed to survive and adapt through a complete century.

Baileys paints at Griffin Mill, Stroud Metal Company and wool production at Lodgemore Mill (first mentioned in the 1400s) have all survived over the years...
