Where: GL5 3AQ  Station Road
Then: Built as a coaching Inn in 1870
Now: Still in use today

The Imperial Hotel was built by Benjamin Bucknall and opened in 1863, and quickly superseded the Royal George as the leading hotel in the town. In 1890, the hotel was described as "very imposing...its internal arrangements and decorations are a credit to the town".

From January 2016, this website is managed by Stroud Local History Society
